Subbed for same color, same dilemma, and same location.

OSCS- I have quite a few pictures of different front ends for our color trucks that i have gathered over time while trying to decide what i want. I just dont know the truck owners and dont want to offend anyone by posting them. Some even might be your truck LOL

The way I bought it, all stock:

with blacked out lights, lift, & black/red wheels:

Fender emblems & grille painted:

And all done:

makes it real easy to see for yourself just how much chrome you want gone. IMO some rigs look great with it, others don't. I'll actually be painting my ovals black next, with ptm red stock style "Ford" text. I'll post pics when I get that done too.

FWIW, the '05+ trucks' 2 tone body line matches right up with the chrome/top pad break line on the front bumper, so if I had a 2 tone '05-'07 going ptm, I'd paint the chrome the same color as the bottom of the rest of the truck, as well as the rear bumper. Possibly paint the center or inside of the grille the same as the bottom color of the truck. You could even tie it all together with the right fender flares. I have a pic of one done like this in platinum colors, but it's not on the computer. I'll see if I can scan and load it in the next day or so.

Here's my old '02 with PTM. This is how I'd do it again if I had this front end to work with. Sorry for the scanned pic. I didn't have a fancy digital camera back in '03.

my rear bumper with chrome and they prepped and painted it. I bought an xl paintable for the front because the rock chips would make paint flake much worse on top of chrome

I've aggressively sanded the chrome, primed, and painted before with details end luck, but this round I had the bumpers blasted and powder coated as close to the right red as possible, then painted over the top so when, not if the paint chips it chips into red, and does not rust.

Thats what I was thinking about doing Wayne, or just running a pcoated white bumper. Im pretty sure you wouldn't even to be able to tell a difference in a pcoat white and oxford white. Iv also sanded the chrome down aggressively and then used a high build primer then painted it and it still looks pretty good
