Hi,

I have a 1999.5 f250 7.3/ZF6. The top of the shift boot was just self tapped into the cab floor.

judging by the large holes on the plastic base of the shift boot and the holes on the top of the transmission, it looked like there was a part that was suppose to come up and meet the bottom of the shift boot from the transmission.

I've finally located a new shift boot, but it doesn't look to have anything like that.

Am I missing a part or does it just self tap into the cab floor?

Thanks and I hope you all are enjoying your weekend,

John

Yea I think the zf that was behind the 6.4 or maybe the F 450's, had a better boot but required modification to the tunnel IIRC.

All 99-07 250-550s have the same boot. Hell im not 100% positive its not the same on the obs trucks. They all bolt on and look the same. The 08 up trucks have a completly different style. I dont know if its "better" but for sure much different.
