From what I have seen its just not reliable enough to run. I know.other company's have talked about making it.better but it just seams like too much to go wrong.

72mm to an 80mm is a.big jump... buy I wanna see someone try it

In theory (at least to me) it seems like it will do what its designed to. Doing that safely and reliably I'd another thing. Is there a way to fail safe it open if you blow a line?

no because they use a wastegate canister to control it which is naturally spring applied in the closed position and boost opens it. it really wont work any other way.
