Quick turbo question.

Hey, got my cab off right now and putting on the Elite 71mm atmosphere turbo and when taking the turbos off my truck I noticed that where the atmosphere turbo meets the VGT turbo for exhaust it was leaking pretty good. This is the second time it has leaked from there. Has any one ever put bolts in there where you would normally bolt up the removal tool? I think I might put some bolts in there this time around.

Don't put bolts in bud. That joint needs to expand and contract. Be careful assembling the turbos thus time. If they don't go in straight you'll wreck the seals/gaskets. Have fun.

ford has a reseal kit to fix the leak. This is what the ring looks like that seals it.

I got the reseal kit so I guess i will just try it again and see what happens. Thanks guys.

Where do you have your cab off. I have been debating on doing some stuff to my truck but dont know any place that I trust that is close.

When the guy pulled my stock turbos off to install the 71mm I noticed soot on the heat shield from that same area.
