ended up going with the passport. the valentine one was a little toopricy for me. I need to figure out a way to hardwire it to my aux switches as well, because all it came with was a 12v outlet.

I like the way yours is mounted shone, very clean

The power wire is really just a phone cord from what I can tell.

Thanks, I had the local stereo shop run the wire while they did the naviation in my truck when I first got it. I dont think it would be hard to do at all.

It is pretty easy to mount. The bracket has tons of adjustments, I didn't like the way the power wire needed to be hooked up so modified it to make me more satisfied. Overall an easy job.

Ive got the Escort. Had it for 5 years now. It works well.

One thing it does is it reminds me to think about how fast I am going.

You can buy hardwire kits with an inline fuse on ebay for about $10-$15.

Best radar detector??? Is not to get one! I've always ran them, and I've always gotten tickets. I was just aware of when I was getting one, before the lights flipped on. I haven't had a radar detector in any of my vehicles in about 4-5 years now, maybe longer. And wanna guess when my last speeding ticket was???? November of 2006!

I'm just saying, no matter how "badass" of a radar detector you get, unless you're paying attention to your surroundings, you're still gonna get a ticket. May as well just use the senses the good lord gave you, along with common sense and keep the money in your pocket.

You may be the smartest guy on here. I'm not trying to say that I have 0 tickets, because I have plenty. However, since I took my radar detector out of my truck I have gotten zero. Like I said before the detector only gives you a false sense of security. Without one you pay more attention to your speed versus just glancing down to make sure you have the volume up on the detector.

For those that think that law enforcement only write tickets for the revenue... You are completely WRONG! In FL 99% of the citation goes to the state. We only get 1% of every ticket we write. Food for thought...

I haven't got a single speeding ticket since putting my V1 in. I have been stopped 2x for speeding with it in, but both were laser encounters, within a week of each other. Got a incorrect registration and bald tire ticket for one, was let go on the other. Both were for 85mph in a 65mph. I slowed down. With straight up radar, haven't even been stopped since using the V1. Laser jammers are next on the list

I had a K40 and it would pay your ticket if you got one with it installed in your truck. It has two led lights that go in the dash that blinks and sounds and alarm. They are not that cheap but well worth the money if you speed all the time. It will also go off if EMTs or Firetrucks are around. The K40 will tell you which direction the detector is picking up the signal from too! Hope this helps It was the best on I ever had.

Guy has a lot of tests and info. Ive got all my tickets except my first with one. I bought it the next day only had my license less than a week. But it has saved me a lot. I jus always have to remind myself that no matter how good one is you cant laser will always get you. Because every time mine goes off for a laser its to late. And with talking with my uncle he only uses his laser or lascar no beating either.

I have one it works pretty good special like over hills and things. it has saved me a couple times. One was coming back from ts last year, saved me and my buddy from a ticket. laser is a different story i would guess most cops around me use radar so it picks it up before i get in sight of them.
