Not sure if this is the correct section or not.

Has anyone just replaced the subwoofer in their F2/350? In the 2015+ F150s, a popular upgrade is just swapping the factory 8" subwoofer with a Kicker 8" shallow mount sub. It requires a 1" spacer ring, but makes a huge difference for about $120.

Has anyone tried doing similar in their F2/350?

40CWRT81 is the sub that I used in my F150.

I bought a box for 2 10s and used a JL Audio ATV amp to power them along with an Audio Control Lc2i and it sounds great. Certainly not cheaper than just replacing the factory sub but for under 500 bucks well worth it for the improvement.

I know full replacements are cheap. I am wanting to go even cheaper. There is a very popular thread on another site where a guy did a full Focal and JL replacement system. My friend who owns an audio shop can get it all installed for me for around $1500. I am thinking a replacement sub and a set of AMP steps would be much more appreciated.

No time this weekend, but I may just order the sub and give it a shot if I dont hear from anyone.

I ordered a box from supercrew sound and went with a 13" jl w5. Jl amp and a line out converter. It's nothing crazy, but I like it
