Just wondering if anyone is having better luck with the newer one. I guess it was updated about 1.5 years ago. The old design was barley ok for the stock turbos. I would have to clean the filter ever 2 weeks. With the 71mm it pulls the filter minder in before 40 psi boost with a fresh filter.

I called and talked to S&B about it today. They said they will send me a brand new updated intake for $99. The guy I talked to said it will work good for the set up I have. Just wanted to see what others were seeing before I waste some more money. I have trouble believing a slightly changed set up will make that much of a difference.

Which one?

Mine.

On edit : the elite upgrade will suffice as well , but mine put 11 horse on it back to back. Tadd can post the proof if he wants. Mine doesn't budge the filter minder with high powers and lots of fuel.

That's the direction I'm going. Does your filter set up have anything it rests on? Did you ever end up making any sort of air box for it. It's a huge filter and obviously what the truck needs.

Mine was fine with no rest or anything didnt seem to move at all. I'd say no need for any kind of a rest.. looks really clean without one.

The new elbow is much more reinforced than the old elite one , no issues at all with no brace.
