There's plenty of take off long beds around here, ranging 1-2k. But short beds are far and few between, and usually ~50% more.

No not as far south as you think. Depends on what part of Maine, but I have a buddy who makes the drive regular. Also, a very good friend of mine in Burlington, VT.

Its around a 12-14hr drive.
