I used a SD van turbo on both trucks. The only diff between the van and truck turbo is the exhaust housing is a 1.15 non-wg on the van. So no wastegated for me. If you have to get a diff exhaust housing anyway for it, then I'd find a 1.15 and then you don't have to worry about the wg. Problem is they're harder to find than a stock truck .84 housing. If you did install it with the wg'd housing, you'd need to clearance the firewall a touch more I'd imagine. And get a Turbomaster or whatever the brand is that DieselSite sells that isn't actuated off of boost. It's mechanical.
I'll see if I have any good pics that show the firewall clearancing. If not, I'll go take some pics it. I 4lb mini sledge in just the right spots for massaging is all I did.
