A couple weeks ago I found, through one of the vendors, a complete upgrade kit. Can't remember th exact name, but it had blue spring, dummy plugs and standpipes, stc fittings, upgraded turbo fill and drain tubes, among some other things. Was a complete kit for like $399 I think. For the life of me I can't find it again! I thought I found it on PDP's website but I've searched it completely and don't see it. Anyone know the kit I'm talking about, or who offered it?

No this kit wasn't your typical solutions kit. No studs or gaskets. Just a pile of the updated parts. Made life easier instead of having to pick each and every one separately.

I'll check out mkm and see.

Correct sir, that would be the kit. I don't remember finding it on MKM's site before, but hell who knows. My memory is terrible as it is.

Thanks for the help.

Are the standpipes and dummy plugs a pretty simple install? I'm getting ready to replace an injector, and figured I would do that while I have the VC off. What all is involved in changing them once the cover is off? No special tools right?

A pair of pliers to pull the lower section out. I think its easier to pull the passenger side oil manifold if the pipe separates.

Is there a diagram somewhere that shows where everything is located under the VC? This will be the first time I've had the cover off a 6.0

Nevermind. Just watched a few great YouTube vids on it.

The standpipe is the one on the rear that has to be removed to get the oil rail off, and the dummy plug is the one up front that doesn't have to be removed. Is that right?

Another thing...I know I'm bouncing around off the original topic, but #5 injector is the 3rd one back on passengers side right? That's the one I keep throwing Cont. codes for. Runs like hell til it warms up so I know it's stiction, but Revex didn't help it much at all.

And are the VC gaskets reusable?

Yep stand pipes are located in the rear, dummy plugs up front. Basically IIRC the updated pieces have an extra o-ring to prevent HPO leaks.

Yea that's what I've heard. Figure while I'm in there I might as well replace them with the updated parts. Just have to pull drivers side as well to replace those while I'm at it. Actually I'm thinking about pulling the whole top side. Replace STC fittings, and my intake is full of sludge. Try to get that mess cleaned out of there while I'm at it.

Well we don't have a engine builder around here anymore, so a hot tank will be hard to find. Planning on just filling it with gas, or so heavy degreaser and let it soak for a little while. Then maybe pressure wash the remaining out. Should have done that when I replaced my oil cooler last year but I had to get it back up and running in too short of a time period.
