Old thread, but still valid questions.
I see where you often promote the Cooling Mist kits and occasionally knock the Snow Performance kits, but I don't recall any specific reasons. In all seriousness, what is the reason you don't like Snow's products?

I'm looking for a kit that I can use while towing heavy (~21K), and Snow has the only controller that is progressive, with triggers based off boost and EGT. That's what I like about their kit. Often when I tow up a hill, boost will start to drop while EGT's still rise. I see the progressive controller with inputs for both being a positive here.

However, if there is a good reason to avoid the Snow Performance kit, I would very much like to know it before a purchase is made.

Looking for any input on the Snow or other kits.

Cooling Mist has better injectors, Better pumps (properly rated rather then shimmed) and IMHO better controllers. Cooling mist offers a dual control as well...

IMHO...

The only thing Snows is good at, is full page ad's in Diesel Power and Diesel World.

I've never ran anything other than a snow stage 2 and I love it. Been running it for nearly 8 years. Controller works great and still running the original pump. Wide range of nozzles...60ml/min, 100ml/min, 175ml/min, 225ml/min, 375ml/min, and 625ml/min. Saying cooling mist has better nozzles, pumps and controllers is just that...an opinion, not fact. I love my Snow stage 2 and would recommend it to anyone. I believe its as good as anything out there. I will not say it's better than anything else. With my setup now...I have it coming on at 13psi of boost and fully injecting at around 30psi.

I think I am running too big of a nozzle. The snow kit is pretty nice. I have the MPG kit and it's pretty easy to set and forget. And I have never let the truck run for 10-15 minutes after coming off the road. Considering that you only inject at higher than 12-13 psi of boost. I just putt-putt home and let the EGTs dictate when I shut it off. I think I have had mine 2 years now.

It is not an opinion... It is fact. I tested 3 water injection systems for about 8-9 months, on the street, on the dyno and on the bench...

The only system to make the rated pressure on the pump was cooling mist.

Good advertisement keeps snows alive...

Like I said...I never ran anything other than the snow stage 2....and it does what it needs to for me. However I have seen a cooling mist kit on a truck and talked to the guy who was running it. After checking out each others kits...I'm glad I have the snow kit...just seemed nicer. From what I could tell...the cooling mist pump looks pretty much the same as the pump snow uses now. I like snows nozzles and controller better. We never drove each others trucks...just checked over each others kits and talked about them. The guy actually wished he would've bought the snow stage 2 over the cooling mist after seeing mine. Everyone has a preference....to each their own.

I will say this....my pump has been on he truck for about 8years....located under the cab. I have been thinking about getting a new one because of how old it is. I will look into trying the cooling mist pump and maybe try their nozzles just to see how they compare.

Which three systems did you test, or what was the third one aside from Snow and Cooling Mist?

When you say tested, what else did you test aside from rated pressure on the pump, and what were the results?

Again, serious questions, not arguing, as I gather information before installing a system on my truck. Thanks. :)
