Smokin deal... crazy sale to me, did I miss something? I wonder why the PO never made an extended warranty claim? Thats all powertrain and emissions system stuff.

He did try and make a claim. The dealer he took it to told him he had "dirty" fuel filters and they could not help him(the truck had brand new fuel filters in it when I went to replace them). He owned an emergency fuel service company and said he simply had no time to argue with them as he has been non-stop since the hurricane came through this area.
The truck had been sitting for quite a while so I believe him.
He flat out told me the money I was paying him was "meaningless" compared to what he has made over the past 8 months. Said he has made $5mil from the storm. LoL
I told him you can just give me the truck then but he wasn't having that. :blah:

I thought about having the warranty transferred(I still will transfer it) and having my local dealership do the job but I think they would have pointed the finger at the DPF and said, sorry but the cause of failure is from a part that is no longer under warranty and you are SOL. :flipa:
Does anyone know the actual warranty period on the DPF/Cat>???
Not to mention I wanted to get my hands on a 6.4 for the experience.

Ford wonders how they lose good customers. That is some pretty piss poor representation from his local Ford Tech. It might not have done any good. But no doubt I would have made a complete fool of myself when he said the filters were plugged.

Funny thing is the guy said he was going to buy a new 6.7 even after getting ****ed.

Lucky for Ford they still have him as a customer. I would probably buy another one also. But first I would get in touch with someone a little higher up the Ford food chain to get this guy straightened out. Now saying that, you know the old saying, there are always 2 sides to a story. But if what he is saying happened. No since in anyone getting treated like they are automatically guilty of something. There are a lot of folks out there that have run a lot of extra power on these motors, and then when it chits itself they want the Ford warranty to cover it. Sounds to me like this guy thinks EVERY truck that has a problem has been tuned and raced. Kinda of a shoot and ask questions later mentality. But like I said, there are always 2 sides to a story.
BTW, I do use aftermarket parts, and if Ford wants to repair it for me, great. But if they say no. I just tell them, no problem I know it is on me.
