Anyone ever wired a 6.0 to be stand alone or know what all is required to run one? As far as ficm, PCM , wiring, throttle pedal.

Haven't done it, but I did see one running a few years ago on a basic stand with a FICM PCM, APS and a few jumped wires. Unfortunately, I searched my old e-mails but could not locate the file or video. I believe it was a shop in Michigan that recycles and rebuilds(?) them. I don't believe it was set up to run much beyond idle. I don't remember seeing a dash harness.

I am in the process of doing this. I will let you know what I need to make it work.

If there was an actual demand for it im sure it would have been done. Dmaxs have standalone options available. Makes it easy for swaps. I could have used it two years ago fighting the pcm with twin pumps. To this day my truck hasnt made a full pass.

Only way is to Start with stock harnesses and cut them down.you need engine, under hood, dash, trans harnesses.a vss signal, later years need the cluster also.

Why would you need the cluster? I ask because I am using an 06 pcm.

I would think a CAN bus communication issue. If it doesn't see the cluster it isnt happy.

I have been wondering the same thing.
Sully did you build the harness in your car? If so would you share?

I'm looking to do the same thing and I want to avoid using the cluster as much as possible. I have a 04 PCM

Lol i dont think 6.0s know what happy is. Everything upsets them. I did alot of cleaning up on my harness on under pressure last year and there was a few wires that made no sense. I remember the trigger wore for the alt is green with a red tracer and it literally runs across the top of the firewall all the way to the passenger side then loops back all the way to the main harness then to the alt. I thoight it was stupid until i realized it was for the dual alt setup. Good luck guys, and i would pick at yoir tuners brain to see what they can get the pcm will ignore. Playing with different strategies seems to do wonders.

It's really a crapshoot...trial and error.some things make the pcm De fuel on some strategies...some don't.for mine no vss signal and the 225s didn't smoke a lick with a race tune and stock charger.the earlier ones weren't as bad until Ford started programming safeguards in to help warranty rates.on a side note e series have the simplest harnesses and do not require a vss signal from the rear end they calculate it from oss and rpm.

Well that's a plus side on the e series harness for my project
