Steering Wheel Replacement

I have a 2001 F250 tan lariat and the leather on my wheel looks like complete dog ****. I have found a place relatively close to have it recovered, but can't seem to justify the price. So, having said that, I have found quite a few xlt wheels online that are just the black vinyl for relatively cheap. My truck does have the cruise control switches, but that's it. So my question is: If I find an xlt wheel out of an 05 or 06 with just the cruise control switches, would they interchange? Would the plugs be the same for the cruise control and everything, and I'd just need to paint my airbag cover black to match?

Hit up your local ford dealer. A leather wrapped wheel is $300 something. I'd imagine you can get a black wheel considerably cheaper.

I have found plenty of black wheels. My question is simply will a wheel out of an 05-07 truck fit my 2001??

Oh sorry. Yes it will. Several guys have done that swap, for the benefit of audio controls.
