My NADP unit with a 6.0 cooler on an 85* day runs about 115-120 hwy/town.

Drag racing sat night launching at 22-2500rpm the hottest it got was 138*.

The hottest I've seen this trans get was 150. Dragging a truck uphill for a few miles with a tow strap below 25mph.

Stock cooler, stock vb/tc/tuning?

Actually... I'm not sure on the cooler... Is it normal for an OBS to have a rubber line with a hose clamp on the pressure and return side of the cooler? I suspect that it's a stockish cooler, that the previous owner had replaced with the trans by the local "professionals."

Stock VB.

Locally built TC, "big" single disk. Not the quietest thing in the world, and not a blow your pants off deal, but it's holding.

And, at the moment... Truck is stock turbo, 160's, adrenaline, electric fuel/rr. With a superchip set on kill...

Yeehaw...

Just thought I'd update this thread to my newest findings.

Apparently when my trucks tranny was rebuilt, they used a triple-disk, triple clutch steel Dacco convertor. I'm still finding more info on this particular convertor, but methinks that a more efficient convertor helps keeps trans temps down, which might be what I"m experiencing.

Possible.

Also, called Diesel Pap and spoke w/ Miss Diesel Pap from dieselbombers. Evidently they are using the same exact TC that I have in my truck. He's running 750whp in his stroke and has been doing tractor pulls w/ it since 2009.

I say I have an alright torque convertor...

Hell, I'd rather have either one :pointlaugh:

But in all seriousness, I have a 1997 e4od which as steel gears and supposedly its very, very similar to the 4r except very minor differences.
