He caught a gear and that slowed his RPMs down. That didn't help. He was running 400/400's

Mainly for discussion sake I guess, if you take an engine like Pontiaccross that had a stock bottom Pistons weren't taken out no block fill or girdle, didn't have headers did he?
Then you take an engine like isootmypants that had everything done to it internally Pistons, headers, ported and polished- all the fixins.

I wonder what the biggest differences will be. Throw out block flex and weak rods and so on. How much HP can be freed up with internal mods.

Main reason I ask is because a truck that had 400/400's and a S400 turbo should have done better than it did. Was it because he had a stock bottom end and just add on's?
This is why I asked, glad your rig is running well
How about if Pontiacross had a fully built engine WITH everything else he had, how much better or more HP would he have gained?

Somebody needs to find out if isootmypants engine is ok

Magnum. I talked to that guy out at the Craigsville pull. He told me he is having a hard time getting turbo lit because he has a factory stall converter. It took him till 100 feet in Craigsville before it lit. He didn't set on the line and try to get it lit or anything. He wouldn't tell me about his turbo. So not sure how big it is. It just might be too big.

Just because you have 4/4s doesnt mean shti. That truck tony built is a strong running truck from what we've seen thus far and he is usjng fairly common setups by todays standards and a nicely built motor.

Kinda how thuggys truck made big power with small injectors. He was over 700...charles has 400/400 and compounds and hit 644 I think.

People are doing more with less.

Yea 4/4s aren't always the answer. I was gonna bump my injectors up to them but it runs so good now I don't want to touch it

I was running 300/400's and I just couldn't get it right. It's being switched back to 300/200's this week and being live tuned at Dynoproven. I was on the fence about it but after seeing videos of tony's truck i think I'll be happy with it. Mine is very similar setup. hopefully the less is more theory comes into play.

Also in truck pulling it has a lot to do with driver skill. At the same pull I saw this truck Magnum is talking about, a friend of mine with just a tuned dodge came in only a few feet behind that obs. And the obs is making more power and setup for pulling.

Was that the only issue that kept it from running like it should? No gen 3 needed?

Yeah my injectors were hanging open. It's done it since they were put in. It was dumping so much fuel I was blowing flame out the stack and probably was only putting out 450 hp.

No gen3 needed. Jon wants to put one of his sr pumps on and see how it does.

To be honest I wish of knew something about it myself. I have never had a chance to talk to him about it. He said hehas a couple on some trucks for testing and they were doing great. That's about all I was told. He basically just said trust me you will like it. So I drove the truck down to him. I was gonna put the pump and injectors on myself but Jon said he would do it if I brought it down, since I'm traveling to Atlanta every other week taking dad for cancer treatment. I'm hoping it's done this Friday. I'm in Atlanta now. Be nice to take it home with me this trip.

My wifes kid pulled 278 with a tuned 05 6leaker on Saturday. It had a tuner and exhaust. First pull and he knew when/where/how to get into it.

Good luck with your dads treatment Dustin.

the lonestroke motor was a bone stock 200 some thousand mile motor. only thing changed was pushrods, valve springs and i dont remember if it was studded, pretty sure it was but not 100% on that.. swamps spent many many hrs tuning that combination to keep tq out of it as much as possible.. i believe it ended up close to 750fwhp but had less tq then hp... i think keeping tq out of it might have kept some hp out of it but the tq would have killed it and you wont get a helluva more out of a 7.3 fuel only max tuned with completely stock heads and cam..

live life full throttle
