Pretty much, yes. I have a rr fuel system as well, and with the AD in there it was more prominent than with the AE.

Awesome, thanks for replying. 99% of the sets I put in are in stock trucks so we do the 7AD/1AE, but since mine had mods I was just curious as to if it was something figured out in higher performance tunes.

I had an ae and at about 20k it went out. They put an ad in that hole, under warranty, and it didnt change anything.

With a leaking HPOP I get so many different sounds it's not funny. Threads like this make me wonder.

Running 250/100's with 400/200 tuning and a leaking HPOP. Grrrrr......:cursing:

I have heard instances like this as well. So it really is a toss up I guess. I know at least a few of our customers have experienced the same thing I did though.

We've seen the AE have a positive effect on some trucks, and do nothing on others. Total toss up.
The #8 contribution failure has nothing to do with it being AD or AE, and everything to do with the CPS. Even OBS trucks set #8 with the new crappy CPS's we are all stuck with now.

thanks for the clarification jim. I thought that the ae injector along with the cps is what made the #8 fail and assumed that since I have seen the ae fail on a couple trucks with known good cps's that it was because of the ae inj..

:whs:

Ran diagnostics on an OBS about a month ago and I could manipulate the CCT through the CPS. Tried 4 different sensors and 2 out of 4 failed the contribution test. All AA injectors.

Probably even Ford CPS's too.
Don't you just love it?

No! I dont. There literally isnt a good sensor anymore. Theres no way everybody is having engine problems. With the same symptoms. Its the damn cps. Just like iprs. They are junk too. I ran the same ipr and cps for ever. Change it "to be safe" and all hell breaks loose.

Yep, all Ford or International sensors. 2 light gray, 1 dark gray, and 1 original black.

That is the truth. Seems like sensor quality for the 7.3L's has just gone down hill throughout the years.

The companies that support them are slowly ungiving a damn about it. "Will these stupid trucks die already!"

Im thinking about a 6.4 swap...tuned and a touch more fuel. Upgrade the atmo and done.

Yea, no crap!

I probably would just go to a 6.7. Used 6.7s are cheaper it seems.

Theres one at a local place for 33k. Even comes with camouflage rockstars!
