Stock or not?

Since I got the truck back it runs better and more power on the low end it needs 33's though. I was able to determine that it has a gtp38r 1.0 ar with 3.5" dp stock exhaust ais intake unknown hpop/injectors. It is very laggy till 2100-2200 rpm then it starts to light. I have driven stock 7.3s which are slugs compared to mine and 6.0s that were stock do not stack up in power comparison. The idle is rompy it needs better fuel pressure and supply demand tuning. It seems way more powerful than a stock set up or just a drop in turbo. Going down the highway the turbo constantly whines I think there is a lot of untapped potential.

Have you checked for boost leaks?
What did you have done recently, maybe there is another thread I missed.....

Before I got rid of my 2002, I drove it around wuth stock everything, except the 38r and exhaust. There wasn't a hint of lag at all. Something is wrong, or you have a 1.15 exhaust housing. Definitely look for boost and exhaust leaks

So since you got the truck back it runs better except the idle is rompy? The new low end power is probably welding the oil filter to the motor, to much power..

Besides the guestion was the slow spool the cold side is cast 1.0 and it spools really slow. How do I check for a 1.15?
The exhaust is stock(muffler had multiple splits) so I pulled it off and waiting for a turn down.
All the boots are in good condition no issues.

As for the dealer he payed 2/3 of the repair bill I was satisfied with that outcome. For the thread amout sorry for asking to many questions I am not all that knowledgable on the specifics I would rather ask than *** it up.

Take a picture of said 38R... Then we can go from there. Take several of the motor, top of motor and the turbo.

Also if you have a question motor related this should be in the 7.3 aftermarket section, if its maintenance related it should go below that, and if its accessory and such then it goes in this section...

But for the love of God dont start another one up there.
