Just the other day I seem to have developed a pretty major oil leak..

It seems to be coming from somewhere on top of the transmission then dripping down both sides, if the truck isn't running it'll leave 2 large puddles of oil, and eventually stop dripping

This is a pic I snapped after the truck was sitting for 4 hours.

Is there anything common that leaks on the back side of the motor that I should be looking for? My first assumption is oil drain off of the turbos, but I'm new to the 6.4 game.

Broke down and crawled under. It's definitely coming from up in the turbo area and dripping onto the top of the bellhousing, tough to say exactly... There's oil everywhere

No CEL means nothing on these motors. Guys drive around on cracked pistons and never know til it really lets go.

If the glowplug harness were pushed out the truck would definitely have a miss to it, he's refer to a cracked piston situation. I would lean more towards either turbo drain o-rings leaking under the high pressure turbo or the little rubber standpipe under the low pressure being split.
Clean the turbo area with stating fluid and get a good flashlight and a mirror and poke around to see if you can find it. Might need to have it running while checking

Is there a reason why you use starting fluid? As opposed to let's say brake clean?

There's definitely a bunch of oil in the valley of the motor, is there anything else that would be leaking this much from there?

The amount of oil that leaks seems to be inconsistent.

Either or. Brake clean will eat off paint and my engine is paint so.

Heres a truck we had come in with the turbo drain o ring leaking badly

With a light and mirror you should be able to find the source pretty easily with it running

Welp.. It appears that the oil was overfilled due to excessive regen. I changed my oil last weekend and it's not leaking anymore.

Dpf is coming off this weekend!

If it was over full that means u are dumping fuel into the oil. Fuel isn't a very good lubercant. I suggest delete that bad boy before u start having some major issues.

Came in yesterday, it's actually in great shape for a used exhaust pipe.. No way in hell I could buy something secondhand like that up here.

Thanks again

Lol that was on the truck in '08 when he bought it! The build date was 12/06 and he bought it in June '07. Gotta love Florida.
