I've been wanting to do this for years! I'm freaking stoked someone actually has the money and time to go for it!! Maybe it will in my near future to just get their product instead of trying to do it...27k isn't bad at all!! This should keep the 7.3 in competition for the next many years!! Anyone have an idea of when they are gonna start competing with it? or at least dyno it??

I'm hoping we'll have my race truck on the track competing with it this race season. They have made a lot of pulls on the dyno with it. And from what I understand, Tommy will be pulling in the 3.0 class this year

Hes not gonna like the 3.0 class.... 1100hp is far from what it takes.

Yeah but you got to think about how much potential Tommy will have for growth with the common rail setup, I imagine 1100+ is quite doable based on the info swamps has given us

I am sure they will be nearly identical engines, but the twin turbo talk was from Scotty/ Swamps.

agreed 1100 is far from what it tales but considering that was on basicly stock heads and cam I'd say its a pretty good start.
In the grand scheme of things they are still pretty early in the development on all this, I'm sure there is a lot of room for improvement...

I agree.

If they are at 1100 on a pretty much brand new set-up/concept, then i'd say they are doing good.

Just curious, not sure if there are any 3.0 6.0's/6.4's out there, but if there are, what kind of numbers are they putting out?

American ride!! What more to be said?? They had a 3.0 on there 6.4 at times.

Nasty Video. Not good quality! 800 HP they say.

Some of these pulls are 3.0 class. One of my most favorite sled pulling pickups.

CR does work good. ;)

The competitive 2.6 trucks are pushing 1300hp right now. I just wanted to put this into perspective.

I totally believe in common rail technology and these 7.3 conversions - I think its very viable from a competitive standpoint - BUT we have to remember - we have to catch up from being behind and then still push forward to keep up with the ever changing competitive landscape.

I want everyone to take a look at this graph:

You see that black line labeled "last year"? That is the injectors out of a 2.6 common rail 5.9 that was well over 1200 ponies at the flywheel. The two steeper lines are the latest and greatest in common rail tech with the steepest line being just the beginning of whats capable with the latest generation of injector bodies. Now its also being reported that changes in 2.6 turbo tech over the winter is picking up 150+hp on the engine dyno on these engines with no other changes.

My intent isn't to be debby downer - but just a reminder that for all the power that is being found through technology applies to everyone - the power gap has to close up to be competitive and we need to shoot for current power levels not last years, or two years, or five years ago.

I agree with you Jason. As impressive as the American ride is, It was still really on the low side for a 3.0 charger and the 2.8 and 2.6 class they pulled in. Being they had run on the dyno and had a reading of ONLY right around 800HP was what impressed me. For being as low HP as it was is sure pulled good and made some of the BIG guys work hard for there wins and made them even lose a time or two. seems like they did a couple or more full pulls with there set up. you cant get much better then that! But still if they would have hit the same power as the BIG boys. imho they could have really gone someplace with that rig! From year to year they competition and new designs keep the game going stronger then the year before. AND make it more of a challenge to the guys just getting into it! It also seems to have a way of keeping they other competitors guessing on what will be the latest and greatest.

Jason. how common is it to see the cummins guy in the 3.0 class to be in the 1700+FWHP ball park? Or are they better then that know?

imho the American Ride did good for the power they were running.
