There is one voltage that ever came on a 7.3 from factory. Multiple models but all the same voltage.

I am curious about this....for the DIY resistor mod...there are 2 different resistors for the different models....if they are the same voltage, then why would you need 2 different resistor ohms for the different models if you are only changing the voltage?

I was under the impression that the real early 94.5's were 100 volts....

the 96's 97's and some of the 99.5's were 110 volts, and the later SD's were all 120 volts ....

I can't remember where I read this for sure, but it seems to me it was on Swamps site... ?

I could be wrong, I was once before......

I went back and re-read it, and they were referring to the Model NUMBER, not the Voltage...

I stand corrected.....

Yes sir, there are certainly different model numbers. I attribute the fact that people "gain" from going to a newer IDM model to the fact that its NEWER. Its an electronic device running at fairly high voltages, things do wear under this condition.
Going to an newer IDM with less key cycles and run time will definitely make a difference in a truck, but its not because of a voltage change. Raising the voltage is going to cut the frequency down a bit, I don't ever recommend people raise voltage with also compensating the frequency as well. The two changes work flawlessly together as we have seem time and time again selling Dave's IDMs.

Its like any electric part... Does your dryer still dry cloths as good as it did the day you bought it? Does your Drill work as good as it once did...

Electrics wear out just the same as a pair of boots. Swamps just knows how to resole a pair of boots.

updated.... and if it doesn't help, then I will have something to Bitch about ... :D
