I just don't see an alarm being that great of an investment man. How many times do you hear an alarm and only think, "dumbass accidentally set their alarm off" or "somethin loud mustve driven by?" I just make sure nothing is visible. If anything id just put a blinking light or 2 on the dash to make them think there's one. Use the $400 to buy new glasses.

a good alarm notifies you when to run out gun drawn

Im running a viper alarm hooked up to my air horns. Perimeter alarm sounds twice then comes the noise. On top of that i have a very loud and annoying siren inside the truck buried in the dash with the main alarm unit. Last time my alarm went off i was 3 blocks away at my parents house when my daughter hit my truck with a basket ball. I had my neighbors calling me to shut it off. I let it run for 5 mins. Then set it off again on purpose for another 5 mins. No one in my neighbor hood goes near my truck.

That's just not a smart thing to do. I'm only going to pull a gun when I'm ready to shoot to kill, and frankly, I'm not going to shoot someone for trying to take my truck. I don't want to sit it out in jail while they wait to figure out if he was innocent or guilty. Even in TX where law says we can if someone attempts to take our property I'd still end up in jail for a little bit. Happened with one of my old customers, and his neighbor came into his house ready for a fight. He sat it out for over a month. I'm too pretty for jail.

lol

I had a clifford on my old truck. The 2 way pager remote never lasted, it'd die about every 2 years. Finally swapped it out with a Viper. The Viper remote lasted only about 3 years. But all in all, I was happy with it. I had 2 sirens on it, later on had the horn hooked to it.

They work. I'm not saying they will stop a professional thief, but they scare off most of the punk kids on a bad path.

Well after talking to Travis, bigbadford01 he's going to set me up with a python 2way with remote start :D , then I'm going to talk to AAA about getting my coverage changed. This was a wake up call I guess.
