Just changing my differ fluid tonight and every time I do one I wonder.....what the hell do they put in this crap to make it smell so terrible!!! They have to think up something not so da#n stinky!!!

Yes it is. When I replaced my spider gears, I was soaking the new clutches in the additive (that is what stinks) overnight in the garage. You still catch a whiff of it six months later.

Nothing better than rebuilding a rearend in something and getting covered in it!! My clothes usually reak of it.... I wonder why I became a mechanic some days.....

I recently changed out my buddies axle seals and splines on his 96 F-350, I smelt the gear oil for the next two weeks.

I have smelled my fair share of burnt rear ends. Haha. That smell id one of those that get stuck in your nose for weeks.
