I was playing around with my SCT canned tow tune and tried lock-up in 1,2,3 option and this was great to get my truck and trailer moving off the line better but the lockups where jumpy and wouldn't unlock when pulling up a hill when you let off the throttle like leaving it in the preset options did. Before I would simply lift off the throttle lightly and it would unlock.
I know custom tunes are the way to go but I haven't found the right custom tow tune for my truck yet the canned ones run much cooler egt's and shift points are better but it does run higher EBP the canned tow tune holds the VGT % closed more. I didn't know if anyone has tried a custom tune that locked up in 3rd at least instead of just 4,5. But still unlocks easily when you let off the throttle when climbing a hill. That BD shifter like the newer trucks would be so nice for my truck I am towing 20-25k combined every time it's hooked to the trailer.
