Been running the street tune with firm delay lock and its great, no shifting issues what so ever. im guessing there is a problem with the racelock file. Im sending it to eric next week

I hear of it happening all the time - been very fortunate with my livewire.

Thanks guys, I have seen quite a few threads about similar issues too, Just got in the game too late to get a new livewire, I received the last or second to last x3, I have never had issues with erics stuff before

Don't have enough to afford a livewire now, and the prices went up when I was looking at buying it, couldn't afford it then either with an exhaust, should have paid the extra money and waited on the exhaust

Ive also had issues with my truck getting stuck in either 3rd or 4th(5th?) gear after a short wot run, but it would downshift after getting up to 20mph or so and then act normal. It seems to happen mostly on runs ending before when the converter locks. I have IDP tuning, and it never does it on the lower tunes. I've also gone into limp mode a few times while the trans seemed to be "learning", but have made multiple passes at the track fine afterwards. I'd like to know what ended up being the culprit when you figure out the issues.

And yes, I'm on the Livewire bandwagon. Still need to invest in a few extras lol

Just FYI
The firmer with stock lock should shift the same as the race.
The only difference I could tell was the MPH the TC locks, which is lower with the race file.

Ya, with my tuner all locked up, I just need to send it to eric, he will just reformat it, believes It a memory card issue. Hopefully I will hear from him when he gets it, and thanks tbsimmons, three pages till someone answered that question, I thought it would shift more like the xrace on my 6.0, guess not

Not a problem. I have never loaded the Race tune, but the X-Street and firmer shift shifts quick and firm to me. Not hard. I think the 6.0 shifted a little different, but that has been a while. I think that the tuning has changed some since the 6.0 with what is able to be messed with.
Neither were hard in my eyes, but my definition might be skewed a little, I am used to the shifting of a Full manual 700R4 that has full line pressure at all times.

I cant answer that one since I have 4.88's. With the stock lock I am locked up around 35. The later lock I lock around 40. But you are correct on it doesnt matter what gear.

The orignal though of the trans going out seems to be true. My tc slip is in the 60rpm to 70rpm range, guess I need to baby it till I can afford one. Would an new tc help at all? Or should I wait till I get a new trans?

Just becareful with it, Ive gone through 2 5R110s in 6.4s and in my experience when you start thinking its goin out it wont be long. Both of mine were perfect one day, the next they shifted a little funny and the next they were out. Neither one of the them got over 160* and both went out on lower tunes. Both were on IDP tuning, not sayin it has anything to do with the tuning. Currently im out of a truck and waiting to find a used trans and beleive me it sucks to have a 35,000 dollar vehical sitting in the driveway that you cant drive or afford to fix the right way. Good Luck man, the 5R110 can be a real b_tch sometimes.

WHS, if I were you I'd go for a rebuild kit with a new converter ASAP!
