True. I'll check the tag again but it seemed pretty wiped out last time I was under there

I'll give you a hit. Do NOT use brake clean on the tag

a S42 has a 4.14 1st gear(stamped into tag on drivers side) Will have 1307 cast into the housing


a s47 has a 5.08 1st gear(stamped into tag on drivers side) Will have 1317 cast into the housing

Depending on the production date on your 95 and what everyone else said that the truck is 21 years old. Job 2 in 95 is when they switched to a S47. Saying that the S42 model fits also in place so yes if you have not owned the truck since new it could very well have been switched to a S42.
