I know its a loaded question..... Does anyone have an idea of what it would cost to get a regular cab 250 repainted to factory quality. Assume no rust or dent repair, just paint.

Any chips in the paint??? Depends on where you go. Without seeing it, $2500-$4500 it just depends on the condition of the current paint.

Damn, you would proly pay around $2000-$2500 around here for better than factory quality. Factory quality isnt that good. lol.

EDIT: No Body work required then around here around $1200-$1800.

Im actually not way off, Maaco is cheaper than that here i think.

My brother and uncle both run paint shops within 5 miles of me, that push out show quality work for the prices i posted.

Did an Altima, about 20 dents the size of half dollars or so, 4 or 5 dents about the size of a 302 piston, and painted it black with green pearl, wet sanded and buffed for $1200 OTD. This includes pulling the bumpers and all lights. We do not paint bumpers on the car.

And a reg cab F250 would not be that much in materials. Closer to $500-$800 at our prices. Reg cab/short bed cost me $350 in materials to get it in primer. Paint/clear was another $200 but i sold the truck after priming it.

I'm getting ready to drop $3,000 in mine. That is having both bed sides replaced; 1 because of rust starting to bubble and the other for a precaution.

What brand of paint and single stage or base and clear? Are you guys taping everything off?

Let me know what you want and i can get you a rough estimate, they would need to see the truck to know an exact price range. Yours might be a little more being a CCLB but i should be able to handle it.

Depends on what brand the customer wants but my brother will only spray Nason or Dupont, Dupont is usually about double the Nason. For an all over Nason is a top of the line paint, but when matching panels on a preexisting paint job, especially some of the newer pearls and trip stages, nothing will beat the blend quality of Dupont. I forgot the clear used but this is base and clear. Of course they can use a house of kolors or a super high end paint but that is going to up the price.

All windows, Jams, mirrors, wheels/tires and anything else that shouldnt be painted are taped off.

Nason is a line of DuPont. I bought 2 qts for my truck last summer it was around $150 iirc, so far its holding up well the only places its giving me problems are where I screwed up spraying :cursing:

Mine's in the body shop now and it's going to run between 3-4K. He's tearing it completely apart, taking all the glass out and taking the fenders off the bed. He doesn't mask it off, he takes it apart and paints it right.

I sure will when that time gets here. I am doing body work now. Then I gotta put in my clutch and so on. Mine is certainly a project truck.

Nason is the low line though. Great paint still.

You can mask it and it still be "right", painting is like modifying a truck. If you go to 10 different painters then you will be told 10 different ways to paint a truck. Essentially, if the color is good, the jams are correct and everything is clean then its "right". Now if you change the color, then yes to do it "right" the doors need to come off, bed needs to come off so everything can be cut in.

Let me know if you need a clutch and ill help ya out.

I'm changing the color, that's why he's taking it apart. It's going to be silver.
