Truck's making a bad noise.

Well it has Motorcraft Mercon V in it, and I have to say it shifts better after changing the fluid. Truck is back together and better than ever. Thanks again guys!

just pulled my motor out of my truck and my flex plate is also broken just like your plate..may i ask where you got it and how much it was??

Mine came from NAPA, think it was somewhere around $75. The real kicker is the warranty doesn't cover it being broke like mine was. Makes me wonder what the warranty is for in the first place...

Its a pita but ask for the actual written warranty and read ALL of it. Many times they are full of it or are only saying what they were told to and it is techically covered. They would have a hard time proving that was not cuased by a manf defect. But I have read there is some tbs from ford about a upgrade or some kit for this. I just was reading about it a few days ago in another forum but can not recall where.

Think I found something on it tsb 99-23-6. Transmisson flexplate replacement. 4r100 with 7.3 powerstroke. Talk about replacing the flexplate reinforcment plate etc
