Ok, Chappy said something about tuning a swamps IDM. The 6.0s had an FICM and the 7.3's had the IDM. They are totally different and non-interchangable. This thread is getting confusing evem though I believe everyone is on the same page.

I don't know of a tuned idm just the frequency and higher voltage mod for them. If I said tuned idm I meant ficm.

gotcha...i'm with ya now. This is why i think it's a good reason to monitor FICM voltage. Being that i'm still running a factory stock FICM with ID's moderate FICM tuning i can tell what the voltage is from my edge insight. If i notice an issue with the voltage and see it dropping...i'll just pull it out and just send it to swamps to have it upgraded. By doing this i wont lose my ID FICM tuning. I talked to Swamps a while back and told them i already have my FICM tuned by ID, and they told me i can send it out with it already tuned to have it upgraded even if it's weak on voltage.

Very good to know . Dustbal8504 already put a idp 58v ficm in my truck along with a moderate tune on the ficm from IDP before I bought the truck. Bad thing about the edge insight is it won't read the ficm voltage over 50v apperantley.

I've got an innovative moderate tuned ficm in my truck and it runs great after it warms up.... until then it runs like complete horse sh*t and you damn near need to plug it in when its 70* out to get it to start........ Might be due to my injectors having 235k miles on them but my other ficm doesn't have any issues..... think i might send it out to swamps for a rebuild

yeah i was told that about the edge insight not being able to read FICM voltage over 50V.

my truck starts awesome in very cold weather with my ID moderate FICM. Might be because the FICM itself is craping out...IDK, but mine starts and runs awesome when super cold weather even when not plugged in.

Does eric do any reman work on them? i like the way the truck runs after it warms up and this starting issue has to go.....

I don't think so. However there is a 58V mod on his website, but it's exactly the same description as what's on Swamps site...so i think maybe he sends them to Swamps for the 58 or 48 volt mod if a customer wants.

Have you checked the voltage on it to verify that is what is going bad?

Nope, not to worried about it.... ill stick my spare in and send this one in for the 58v mod... have him update the tuning on it and send it back and stick it in with my 175's
