In talking with Chris, it seems we're both using the same file... VXCF4D2/ZHB0. I don't think that's the issue. Unfortunately, I was out running errands when he called me and when I tried to call him back about 5:30 he was tied up. I'm going to get in touch with him tomorrow and see if he would be willing to send me one of the files he's using on your truck. I can do a full comparison between his file and my file to see what's different between them. This would really help to narrow down the cause of the cold start issue.

It'll get fixed! :D

Thanks bill I'm talking to pizza pig tonight he watched the videos and is leaning toward a high pressure oil problem. Let me know what you think after you see them.

Dang that's nasty! I'd agree with the notion that it may be ICP related. However, it still doesn't explain why it starts reasonably well in one tune, but not in another. I still firmly believe that there is some difference in the tuning that's somehow related to the hard starting, but won't know until I can get a file to compare against.

BTW, have you used the XCal and LiveLink to datalog any of the PCM outputs? Monitoring ICP, IPR, and PW might help shed some light on the subject.

Just going out on a limb here. But it couldnt hurt to check, ive seen some trucks act very funny like this, for something you would think isnt even remotely related. Hopefully it all works out for you.

If you make it down Friday Bernie, we'll check her out, and see if something might just be starting that is getting overlooked maybe. That's the same strategy I have on my truck too, and have had no issues with either if there tunes. Maybe just a fresh set of eyes......

Check the IPR axis in the duty cycle table and compare it to stock in the 0-5 mpa range.

I'm gonna say my glow plugs were 99% of the problem. I think the additions pw in the high hp tune enhances the issue. But it's starting great now. Thanks guys. Started almost as easy on your SPD tune today Chris. Large puff of black smoke and poof she was purring.
