Turbo questions

Hey guys wanting to go bigger on my turbo just don't know what to go with want to stay with a vgt iv been looking at the powermax 68mm and mtw stage 2 I'm wanting to be over 500hp like 520/530 I might even go up on my injectors but my truck has 155s and a powermax any help would be awesome I really just need to know if the 155's are big enough to make that hp

I don't think you will get to mid 500's without bigger injectors, I cannot say for sure, but I think you will atleast need 175's or 190's. As for vgt or non vgt, you will be fine with vgt. Truthfully you can probably hit your goal with the pmax. But the 68 pmax or MTW would for sure get you there if not over shoot your goals depending on injectors and how aggressive of a tune you run.

Ya I figured I could keep the 155s I seen on here a guy made 500hp with stock fuel and I think the mtw stage 2 but if I get new injectors I'd probably just go up to 190s might as well go big right iv got the supporting mods "not saying I have everything that can be done to the truck" but it's not at all stock I just want to be able to move down the road a little faster

I had a 64mm cheetah from fleece before my s300 and I liked it alot. Spooled good with my stock injectors and laid down 585hp with my 225s. Price wasn't bad either

68mm Vgt is beast for daily driving, I love it. I have 180/75s injectors paired with it and it cleans them up easy.

Haven't dynoed this setup yet. I dynoed 509 HP on stock turbo so mid 500s will be achievable all day.

Do you know any number before the 205's I wouldn't want to go that big 190's would be as big as I would go but were you egts ok sorry for the 20 questions hahaha

Ya I talked to rcd today and they said they could make my pmax a 68mm for a lot less then a stage 2"not saying I wouldn't pay the extra for a stage 2 even stage 3 if it would be worth it" but the only thing is I have 155 sticks so I really think I need to go up to make the turbo performe so I guess I need to drag out the drawing board but I never tow anything with this truck I really just play with it I have a stock work truck I use for work so I'm not 100% worried about a towing setup if this helps I really just want to put it on my buddies with 6.4's

I never ran it on the Dyno with my stock injectors. But I Dynoed 401hp with a tune only and I noticed quite a gain with that turbo after. I would've pegged it around 450. Egts were close to stock with the stock injectors, and just as good if not a little better than my s300 with my 225s

Looks like I sold my 155's and pmax so I'll be getting new injectors guess 175/75 and the mtw stage 2 will be on it's way soon looked into the 190's but seen a guy saying it was smokey can't wait to get this on the truck

Will do how do you like your rcd injectors that's what I have now but iv seen a few guys put them down I never have had a problem with mine

Injectors out turbo out going to put a new hpop oil cooler and ipr valve while I'm waiting on parts might as well while I'm in it

Made 530 on a load cell dyno with 190/75's and a pmax. Over spun the power max like 10 psi out of its map but it stayed alive LOL. I'd step up to 175's probably and look into a MTW charger

Ya that's what I'm getting 175/75 with a mtw2 just don't know what I want to do yet with the injectors iv got a new set of motorcraft injectors should I have them built or get some already built I sold my 155's already and just trying to figure out what company to go with

Build from your motor craft ones for sure. I would stay away from getting your spill ports welded if you can. If the weld isn't done correctly, the heat will warp your fresh injector bodies.

That's what I'm worried about my 155's were rcd and I never had a problem out of them but there's so many options I don't know who to let build them

Thats something else I wonder how the stage two would clean up say a stage 2 with 190/30's maybe I just don't want to get it then a month later be like oh I want the stage 3 and have to do injectors again scratching my head over here
