Apparently this is where all the smoke is coming from now, the turbo. Thick, wet oil all in the exhaust. Fixing to pull the pipe and make sure that's the culprit. Assuming this is the problem, what turbo would you guys advise? Looking to still pull some, but want to get what I can out of the 190s. See sig for mods. I know there is a lot of hype with the Mtw turbos, and I love what most are saying, but cautiously because I have been down the road of too good to be true before. TIA

I've got a Fleece 63mm Powermax with a billet wheel. Haven't installed it yet though. You can get them thru No Limit on here.

Price really isnt a big deal, but just want good bang for the buck. Not going to do any sled pulling, but want a solid turbo that puts out good power on the street. Feel like the truck is pretty quick now, but I want one that will take it to the next level. Like the feeling you got when you put an SCT on a stock truck the first time.....yeh lol

could look at the MTW stage 3/4...i wanna say the 3 equals the rcd 68mm but with a larger housing (not completely sure). but i havent heard anything bad about these turbos and as far as Ive heard they are awesome and Adrian stands behind them

the 3 or 4 will be a little out of my price range I think. Would like a 3, but if I went with MTW I'd probably have to stay with a stage 2, for price reasons. Shy of $100, it doubles in price from a 2-3.

Looking right now at BlueWaffle's old 68mm, and possibly an s366. Im new to the whole turbo thing, so I need advice. Never paid too much attention to what all the #s are, so Im in the dark. Looks like similar powerwise, one vgt, one non. Which would you guys prefer?

depends on your driving style, a non vgt is just as easy to drive with the right tuning. There is a definite learning curve to driving a non vgt truck but its nothing crazy. If you want you can pm me and I can help you out, I can point you in the right direction.

Well......pulled the intake pipe off, and there was a good amount of play in and out. Pulled the downpipe expecting oil.....nope....just dry and sooty. What now?

One thing with nonvgt is you will need the uppipes modified and need a pedistal. If you we're to go with a 366 look into the .83 divided t4 turbine. 190's are plenty to spin it up assuming you hav at least 75% nozzles. I had a .76 divided t3 on a 364 and it worked fine but had a 1.32 t6 475 to back it up. I ran 205/100's so 190's aren't that much smaller. But tuning is a big key and airway mods are a big help as well.
