The powermax claims it can support a extra 175hp, what do they conceded supporting power, or cleaning up. With a street tune I can still hit 1400+.

I don't know how 175 hp over stock was determined. The max that I thnk has been put sown witha pmax was around 550 hp on fuel only 190/100s. that would be a very smokey hot truck. IMO the pmax is best suited for 155s which would be good for up to 500 rwhp

I put down 260 stock, so 175 over is 435.
Now they claim it will support that, to me support means safe egts and no smoke, do they just mean no smoke? I hope I'm saying this right. Trying to see what they mean buy it will suport a extra 175hp.

That's how I look at it. It will support a extra 175 hp over stock SAFELY. Jmo

In about 8 days I will be sending my stock turbo off to mad turbo to get it fixed up, my question is which stage should I go.
Right now I just have tuning, the man goal is low egts pulling with less lag than the powermax. If it keeps temps low then injectors. 155, maybe 175/75 with a good tow tune. Will be pulling 5,000-25,000lbs at up to 11,000'.
Thanks.

I will be getting video of the truck with the powermax pulling 14-16k of rock and dirt, then with the mad turbo. Will start that the 1st of July if all works out, waiting on permits.

The powermax was designed as a stock turbo replacement. It sure can support 175 over stock just add a race tune and theres your 175hp over stock. The stock turbo can support 175hp over stock too, just add a race tune, same concept. In a nutshell the powermax is a slightly glorified stock turbo, that has more lag. Hardly seems worth the money to me.

IMO, I would go with the Stage 2. It moves the most air of the four turbos (stock, stage 1, stage 2, or powermax) and seems to be just fine with stock injectors and has just as fast if not faster than stock spool up. I would confirm with Adrian, but IMO the Stage 2 is the best bang for the buck.

Will the stock intercooler hold up to it? I'm still up in the air if I want a banks or serpco.

Yea I would think the stock intercooler would do fine. I would look more into a ported intake manifold over the intercooler, since you are still on stock injectors. JMO.

Would stage two flow enough if he wanted to up injector size?

See the only thing is I dont know how elevation plays into all of this other than the motor will require more air. I know at lower elevations like where I live, the Stage 2 can handle 175/75s without a problem with the right tuning to get the boost to 30-32psi. So it makes sense to me that 155s wouldn't be a problem and with a good tow tune and some FICM tuning (i.e. through PHP), I wouldnt see why 400hp wouldnt be a realistic goal. I mean the 6.0 is knocking at the 500hp door on stock injectors, FICM tuning, and Race ECM tunes. So give it that little nudge with some 155s and there you are at 500hp with a race tune and FICM tuning. Now back off the fueling/timing some for a tow tune and I think a safe 100hp less tune is perfectly capable. I know Matt at GPDA could only get his EGTs to like 1160F with his tune that made 485hp on the stock injectors. So I am fairly confident this turbo flows enough air for a little larger than stock injectors.

Goal is a soild 400-450hp tow tune. Don't plain on a race tune.

Again, IMO this is a realistic goal (at least the 400hp is) and should be attainable with this turbo and either stock or 155cc fuel injectors. The key to it all will be tuning. It may require some live tuning but I truly believe it can be done.

In a week I will be pulling my 21' inclosed trailer to Amis, Iowa. I will get video at sea level too. It is 21x8.5 and 8' tall, about 7-8 loaded, will get a total weight when I leave.
I will be towing on my street tune.

I wouldn't mess with a intercooler either, water injection would be a better bang for your buck as far as egt reduction goes.
