I have this type of coupler on my GN trailer. Anytime I have to move the trailer or want to uncouple it, I have to jump into the bed. f the trailer is not straight on, I can't open the tailgate and have to jump over the sides which I hate. And if it's raining or the bed is wet, my pants get soaked. Yes, I know I still have to hook the chains up.

Is there anything easier out there beside going to 5th wheel?

I ran one of these, just with an 18" offset for a short bed. They are a spring loaded coupler and come with a cable you can mount to the trailer. Pull the cable while raising the trailer and it uncouples, its spring loaded so you don't have to do anything when hooking up, just lower it down and the hitch locks.
