I plan on fabbing up my own up pipes, I wanna use 6.0 manifolds and I am wondering how to I fab the up pipes to meet up with the manifolds? How worried doin have to be about clearances?

You need a mock-up engine with all the stuff in place because some of the clearances are critical. If you don't have one for mock-up, I'm sure you could do it on your truck once he manifolds are on, but that would be a nightmare. Don't forget downpipe clearance as well.

well the motor is out of the truck, so im assuming that i would beable to do it like that, im gonna put the manifolds on an mouth the turbo, an keep the uppipes as tight to the motor as possible, but how do i make an uppipe bolt onto the 6.0 manifolds ?

Wouldn't you need flanges made to fit the manifolds? Why don't you just buy a set of up pipes lol

You need 2 old up pipes from a 6.0 for flanges. I just bought 2 ss 90s from summit and 2 bellows, that's all I needed. I robbed the bungs from my old up pipes, and if your using a waste gate you can cut off the old flange that went to the bottom egr cooler and weld it in to mount the gate to. Mine looked good and was cheap, I think I have pics in my build thread but not sure. When I get back to my PC I will look.

Edit, I used my old up pipe flanges at the turbo also, just welded them to the new pipes.

ok thats what i thought, i wanted to make sure, idk where im gonna get the old 6.0 uppipes at lol
for the wastegate i was gonna try an reuse as much of what it has on it now, and mine will be going to a t4 flange, you used 2in stainless steel right?

an josh i can build them for a fraction of the price, an then say i built them lol

lol... I guess I'm just lazy. I'd rather have some nice shiny stainless mpd ones or something and just tighten the bolts and be done haha

If you can find a couple guys who did a egr delete on a 6.0 all you need is the short pipe that gets discarded. I have several laying around the shop.
I think I used 2 or 21/4 pipe, whatever the factory pipe is.

I built mine because I didn't want to wait for someone to build them. And I mounted my gate under the truck so I did it the way I wanted.

I v-band all my 6.0 manifolds. 6.4 chargers make way too much back pressure for the 2 bolt flare style of a 6.0. Other than that I reuse all the piping from a 6.4 and utilize triple layer HD bellows.

I have a set from Rudy's. Can those use a v band or do they have to be made special to do that?
