The hard part is that the seat cover is hog ringed to the foam in the middle of the seat. Right at the "bolster" lines.

Yep. Its easiest to just take the daggum seat out. Cut the hr's from the bottom and do what you need to do.

Oh, I have had the seat out and completely apart. Even had the seat cover off until I found the rings down in the cushion.
Think I will do what you suggest, and when I replace it, attach string to the cover and pulled through the cushion and tied to the bottom of the seat frame.
