Ouch, why is it so rusty/corroded? What kind of coolant/coolant mixture were you using? Or do you think that's just from the refill of straight water when you were looking for the leak?

*whistles*

I'm sitting at Ford. Got the pump on last night and they're gonna flush with VC9 to clean it and then refill with coolant.

Hopefully that takes care of it for you and the next one makes it more than 8k miles. I'm on my third water pump. Got about 150k out of the first one but only about 90k out of the second. Hopefully the third one's mileage goes back up again.

What coolant are they at ford going to use? I personally would be doing the flush and fill myself. I would be using ELC coolant. If you let ford do it you will be stuck measuring SCA and adding them as needed . With ELC nothing to do and lasts 600K miles That pump looks horrible. Like it was left out in the rain for a few weeks. Yuck..

If I ever decide to go to ELC I have some on my floor of my garage. I just wanted my truck back and I don't mind checking SCAs once in a while. Every 15,000 miles. I track mileage in my phone for work anyway and I get service reminders.
