Great unit, have one in my peterbilt service truck, run it for a 120 minutes and its 150 degrees(with a -40 degree ambient temperature). Cant say i care too much for the 7 day timer though..

Yeah, I'm not excited about the timer. I'm going to run a regular switch parallel to the timer so I can have instant on-off capability. There was another guy complaining about the timer's manual settings so I figured I'd just bypass.

Later down the road I'm going to remove the regular switch and run it with a remote controlled relay to make it more like an autostart.

Glad to hear so many success stories on bigger rigs than mine! It shouldn't take any time to get temps to 150* and keep them there!

I played with one on a customers truck before, and it would run the blower at a low speed while it was running.

Seemed like a good idea, but not sure how you would start the truck after a few hours of operation.

Any incite on this feature?

I'm sure there's a way to tie it in to the fan, but mine won't. I know on the German cars these come as a factory option on its all a plug and play type deal, but for us on the other side of the pond we have to work those details out ourselves if we want the option.

Just running the heater itself draws low amps, even on the higher setting. I'm not going to tie the blower in so I can run it for a while and not worry about draining my batteries.

Ok, so after being unable to source an EGR cooler coolant line for the past week or so, I've gone back to a T in the heater hose. I'm going to draw from the heater core return and dump into the coolant drain plug on the driver's side. I wanted to get it all installed today, but I got tied up at work until late every day this week and was unable to buy the hoses and fittings and other random bits to get it done.

So today I picked all that stuff up. I need to get my mounting bracket holes drilled a smidge wider, and I'm going to get this rig for the drain port drilled out some while I'm at the machine shop. That should help it flow a bit more.

The first picture is the fitting broken down, 3/4 barb to something flared in the middle to M16x1.5. The second pic is through the barb with the whole thing together to show the restriction. The third shows the barb without the other parts, the fourth is the flared in-betweenie, and the fifth is the M16x1.5 side of the other adaptor.

Got the unit mounted and the coolant hoses all ran and hooked up tonight. Next time I get a minute I'm going to run the wiring, then fuel. Hopefully at this rate I'll have it done by next winter, LOL

I got it 1/3 installed and mounted on the truck and then got stupid busy at work. I need to get it finished up - it's been in the -30's here lately.

I'll try to either get it done myself or drop it off with a friend here in the next week and let ya'll know how it goes.
