Money is tight and I know I will need a Transmission in the near future.

Weighing my options with buying built one versus buying rebuild kit with billet shafts and having it done by a local reputable shop?

Any suggestions/recommendations?

i found myself in the same position about a year ago. i had just gotten into a good job, coming from a horrible paying job, but had no money saved yet. had to get a loan, but ended up with a bts... it sucked, but weighing the options, and having a mildly powerful 7.3, i think i made the right decision, brian's warranty is amazing. not saying others dont have good warranty's, just my experience. i blew a trans cooler line going down the freeway a few months after i installed it, and pulled off as soon as i could, but it basically burnt it up. long story short, brian warrantied it.

This is how I received mine back in 2010. It seeped trans fluid the whole time I had it, not bad where I had to refill a lot, but still. Bottom of the pan always had some on it. Could atleast spare $10 worth of ratchet straps on a $7,000+ transmission

I know what he said. Warrens warranty is pretty darn good so I wouldnt worry about it. Have not seen anything bad about them so not sure why there would be spculation with going with one. Espcially if they will use whatever you want to build it. Raybestos and DPC converter or whichever you choose. Man, Jesse or Andy should hire me haha.

Spend more and do it right once or spend a little and build it over and over until you're broke
This, I thought you were pertaining to the price of a warren trans being cheap, meaning the trans becoming broke meaning more money being spent. I am def sure I am reading same thread um, yup.

Naw. Maybe you read what you wanted to.

If you are gonna call Josh out for suggestion some of the best in the industry, over prices... I'm definitely gonna explain to you why the price is what it is and how you save in the long run spendinh up front from the start. I went through 5 4r transmissions before I learned that hard lesson. Soon as I got my 6.4 I had Tadd get my trans together to handle anything I could throw at it. Spent a couple grand to do it, but it beats the hell out of spending $3500 2,3-4 times.

I think you just like to start bs really lol. Calling Josh out, nope, maybe thats what you wanted to read as well. But I understand your point on pricing. I have no beef with you and def not with Josh. This is first time I have even had a conversation with you. I have called you a couple times matter of fact but still have not talked with you. And please dont feel like that is a call out either.
