why would you pull the head off right away anyway? you can check for a seized valve with the head on, take the glowplug out, turn the motor until that cylinder is TDC, then pull the retainers and spring on that valve and see if the valve moves freely. check your pushrod too while you're at it.

and if you dont have anything nice to say then dont say nothing at all hmm.........:swordfight:

Says the guy that apparently drives around with a dead hole and doesn't notice it...

This is a perfect example of why 99% of people have no business giving reviews on injectors and such when so many people have no clue when something is totally and utterly fubared...

If you weren't actually driving around with a broken rocker, totally unaware of any sort of issue with the engine, then nevermind the above.

well i knew the truck had issues and hasent been drove much like this.... the last time i had a rocker break it was pretty clear there was an issue... it was poping through the intake..... the time before tht out the tailpipe...
this last time it wasnt noticeable like that....

You will get feedback based on your actions and your contributions. The mere act of starting the topic in no way changes the nature of the discussion that follows.

I was merely pointing out that a guy driving around oblivious to the fact that he had a dead hole might lay off giving anybody else much sh*t on the subject for like a solid year just for starters.

Good luck with it.

You seem to have alot of issue with valves. Was this always the same valve for the broken rocker? If so did you check the valve at any of these points to make sure it actually did move and was not stuck? If it was multiple rockers each time being a different one I wonder what would be causing this to happen? Weak springs , valve to piston contact....what?

Did you ever check to make sure the valve was indeed moving the other times when you replaced the rocker? Did you check and or replace the valve spring, push rod, etc..

I would think you are going to have to pull the head as it would only be right to make sure any buyer knew the history on that. Given that history number 6 cylinder is a pandora/s box. To sell it for any decent price given the current climate in used auto sales its gonna need to be fixed first. Just my opinion though.

100 lbs is not that bad and with an extra set of hands should not present too much of an issue. If it were me I would pull both head and have them rebuilt with a basic build or find a set of low mileage heads you can just swap out. Stud them to be sure they hold and call it a day.

My dad and I pulled my heads in cab by hand and it's kinda tough but as previously stated that second set of hands makes a big difference.

Sucks to have to do it but hey you will have a much better running truck. Should be much easier to sell or hell you may want to keep it then. Should add about 5" with the 08' leaf swap and a couple leafs added to it for the heavier X back end.
