What do I need to look for in a 6.0?

I'm looking at a 06 f250 xlt for my wife. I don't have a clue on 6.0 and want to know what I need to look for. I'm gonna take it to the shop sometime and have the cooling system pressurized to hopefully see if there is a head gasket leak.

What am I looking at here? I see the intake elbow, but what is up with the oil cap?

Yup, oil bypass..

Have the temp delta checked out. Also look at the motor to see if it has studs or the original head bolts

Thanks. It does have work done. Dual exhaust, filter, cfm, oil bypass, paint work, 08 center console, DVD, navigation, dual steering stabilizer, under coated, interior is mint, gn ball, air bags.

What should I look for when I get it in the shop?

Is there a reason for the custom paint? And from the looks of the picture out has a intake elbow, cold air intake, oil bypass, and possibly the diesel site boot kit.

look into a paint job as well while your at it

i'd look for the the egr delete. see if it has stud. pressurize the cooling system if you can. maybe check the volts on the ficm.

From everything I can tell the previous owner did it purely for looks. Salesman said he wanted it to look like a Harley truck, said it had Harley sh*t all over it.

I also notice that it has chrome door handles but no chrome pkg. From this I would check all the handles for finiky install and all interior door panels from when they were removed for the swap.

Make sure you get all the possible info you can! Another to keep in mind is that being there is aftermarket stuff is possible they ran the piss out of it. Also look at it from the point of "why did they get rid of it" especially if it is nice!

true....but I also have lots of mods to mine and still drive it like a big flapping pu$$ LOL. either way...check it out for sure.

Well when I was lookin,oat of the ones that were modded we're the ones with issues lol but at the same time if it's done right dont be scared off!

Hmmmmm...... I would take it for a drive...... run the piss out of it...... Bounce it off 4k a few times..... Itll tell what its about.... See if the tranny is happy or not....
