Last winter I had Rottela 15w40 reg. My exhaust stunk and the truck hated it in the cold mornings. I live in north Ga. but not up in the mtns. I switched to delo 400 le 15w40. Now the exhaust smells better and the cold starts are a lot smoother.

Ask him (or anybody) how you "overfuel" a diesel at idle/part throttle without the engine rpm climbing....

If a diesel receives more fuel, it makes more power. The engine rotating assembly only has _____ amount of drag. If the truck is still at idle rpm, then it's burning no more fuel than stock to accomplish that idle. If more fuel was injected, the rpm would rise.

Its not so much over fueling as it is a ****ty spray pattern due to low injectoin pressure. This causes the mixture to burn poorly and appear "rich" or over fueled.

I have the same problem with my truck. But with my edge out of the truck it smokes blue a lot until the truck gets warm. I do have a little oil in the intake plumbing.
