Thanks man! Bolted up with chrome bolts and washers. Going to spray the axle, shocks and calipers next chance I get. Got the idea from a 4 or 5 year old thread on another site. Thinking of writing one up, if only I knew how to post more than one pic at a time.
Looks great!

I thought about it. But like I said this is the first time I've used it and I had this can laying around for a few months.

I'll probably get some red and peel this off and try it and see which one I like better.

Just go right over the black with the red. Don't need to peel it. That's the beauty of it. Don't like the red, go back over it with black again. The more coats there are, the easier it is to peel off when you want to.

I might could do that once with the red but after that it would probably be to thick. There's a little lip on the cap that goes under another lip on the mirror. Get it to thick and it won't fit right or might peel it off some.

Haven't personally seen the lips on the mirror, but that stuff isn't as thick as you think. I used 8 heavy coats on my headlights last year and it still came off about the thickness of a cheap latex glove. Either way, doesn't really matter if you peel it or not. 3 decently heavy coats or more and it peels nice and easy.

Looks good, the solid black is such a clean look.
Thank you darlin! Lol. After seeing them this morning in the daylight I really like the all black! It was dark when I put them back on so I couldn't see how it really looked. Still might do the red just to see how it looks.

You're welcome ;) I've kept the red and black theme on my red truck, I like it. I'm sure you'll keep it classy, even if you do go with the red caps.. it just draws more attention to them that way.

damn man that sucks. ive been there also. may as well throw the whole gammot at it because it wont cost that much additional overall.

i saw your parts list earlier which looks good-if funds allow, add a cam and ported intake manifold.

and all i would stress is get your rods checked for straightness and inspect your front cover for cavitation because your there. replacing lifters is a given and sideaction diesel has just come out with some upgraded ones...

Ok, thanks for the info. Still waiting to see how much I'm gonna get to spend! Deff won't be as much as I would like. LOL As far as the cam and intake I may hold off lil while, unless I have money left over. I have located a used long block that is suppose to be good for $900 or I can get a short block for $500. I will prob go with the long block for the extra head cores and rotating assembly. I still plan on rebuilding it just like I was planning on mine. Then I can have my engine to get bored and put oversize pistons and other goodies in as I get the funds.
