if there is that big of a difference in the 30s, then you have other issues goin on.. i tried the delo 5/40 and my dually still likes the delo 15/40 better...

I think just about everyone that owns a 7.3 with the original motor will agree with you on this statement. I know I sure as hell am tired of just working under the hood. I wish it would just start normally in the morning, no matter what the temperature is, and then it would make it to work where id shut it off, and I could start it again and it would make it home. For more than a month straight with out anything going wrong. That's all I want it to do to be honest.

Replaced the icp and ipr coil and got it to work over 180* oil temp. I'm a happy guy. Then I forgot about my pocket knife on the windshield squirted cowl and took it for a ride down the road, still there when I got back so I still have my pocketknife.

First work commute with new parts. Showed 18.4 combined mileage so if say it was well worth it. Averaged 15.7-16.2 previously.

I'm getting 17-17.9 on the highway and 14.5-15.5 in town, if I don't play too much. 13.5-14 if I enjoy it a bit more. Those are on the hottest tune and hand calculated. Best I ever got pre-diet was 16 with no regen on that all highway tank. Typical was 15-15.5 highway with regen. Truck seems to like 75-80mph the best. Tried running 65-75 on the way to Houston today and it was showing 16.7. Sped up to 75-80 about half way and its reading 17.4. Lieometer is anywhere from .2 to 1.5 mpg high, typically .75-1 mpg high. I figure I'm in the 16.7 vicinity on this tank.

I've talked to a few 2wd stock dually owners who are getting hand calculated 20mpg. Is that the difference between 2wd and 4wd? Granted all of these guys were in there 70s but still.

Several I've talked to that have had 11-14 and a 15 have gotten quite a bit better mileage out of their earlier trucks. I've heard several 18-20 reports. I don't know how many are believing ther lieometer, wishing, or hand calculated, but the reports are fairly consistent.

I use fuelly. Mine is within .4. Dash said 18 and fuelly said 17.6 but thats also not accounting for the 35's so it's a little better. Here are my last 10 fill ups and mine is a non ******d 14 with an afe intake.
