What is this?

I'm going through a lot of modifications right now on a 99. There is a hard line that comes from underneath the pass. Side manifold to a sensor on a bracket attached to the cover you have to remove to pull the bolt out of the drive gear for the hpop. This line broke. Anyone know what this line/sensor is for? Thanks guys!

if its black with soot, then that line is leaking and should be relaced....

He is saying it is black inside the tube, and that he just broke it. So now it needs replaced.
