Every 7.3 we've had in my family spent its life on Rotella 15-40. Never had any oil related issues in any of them. My truck has ran regular Rotella and T6, and regular Valovline and fully syn Valvo. So far out of those my truck likes the Valvo hands down, actually likes the the regular valvo better than T6.

Although if i had the cash it'd see nothing but Schaeffer fluids. But for now i'm running regular Valvoline, about all this broke college student can afford. LOL

Delo 400... Synthetic blended oil at the price of regular oil year round here...test with Blackstone at 5k 8k and 10k they said I could keep going...I swap it at 5k but if funds or time don't allow.. I know it wont hurt to wait another week...my truck has never had a romp and has always started just fine not plugged in even at 15 bellow..

yea im pretty sure my inj. are wearing its hard startin at 20 ish which should just cycle plugs but did that other day and drained my batts, so imma get 2 new batts and then see if the thinner syn oil helps or not. hopefully it does.

Cycling the plugs does nothing, anyway. The GPs are still on even after the WTS light goes off.

I use t6 synthetic 5w-40, didnt notice much of a difference when i switched from regular rotella 15w-40 to this.. Not enough to justify the price difference anyway.

the weak batteries could be your hard start problem...these trucks may spin fine but if it doesnt see 10.5 while cranking she will not fire..

I run Schaeffer's 7000 15-40 syn blend 5-6 months and the 9000 5-40 during the cold months in both of my trucks. I am doing 8-10k mile oil changes on my Duramax with the Schaefer's.

I know that the gp stays on for two min. But what i was meaning was start cycles, glow plugs crank over turn off wait. Try again with starting. The batts are 2 year old walmarts.
