I'm currently running some warren 190/100s and an s366 and was wondering if anyone had a better turbo suggestion that would allow me to tow without such high EGTs. Looking to hook to a 26 foot gooseneck with my buddy's cummins on it.

Also does anyone know the cross referenced part number for the airdog filters for say Baldwin, Wix, or any other filters?

thanks!

With a good tow tune you could run a Kc stage 3 68mm with those injectors and have a pretty mean truck.

The reason for high egts is the 100% nozzles on the injectors...a little over kill. Guys complain about it all the time. Really shouldn't go any bigger than 75% nozzles on a 190cc injector.

What kind of egts are you seeing?
At what RPMS are you struggling?
What size tires/lift/gears?

The three things that would help the most are...
going to a smaller turbo (vgt or non-vgt)
going to a smaller nozzle (30% would help)
re-gear if you are running bigger tires.

The ultimate combo would be to build a set of compounds with a smaller HP turbo and bigger LP turbo. Then you get the best of both worlds.

I have 195/30s with a stage 2 Kc turbo and my egts at 1800rpms are right at 1000 pulling a 33ft fifth wheel camper fully loaded for 2 people to live out of. If that helps OP

I dont understand why 6l are so hard to tune for nozzles?

Anybody here that tunes that can 'splain how you manipulate pw in the tuning and why just pulling pw until the truck is responsive and cool doesnt work?

Op, i truly am trying to help you too.

It is sad for us 6.0 guys but the answer is very simple. There is no PW table in the 6.0 tuning.

There is a table to fool the ICP sensor and it only has 5 values (which leaves a lot to be desired). That is the only way to manipulate the PW on the 6.0.

Ok. But there is no way to find a decent value for someone towing? Or is that what people ARE doing?

I need to get a better understanding of the 6l injection system.

Our "shop" truck is an 04 6l cclb with rcd 190/75s and a powermax and it ***kin rips! Rcd tuning too. I think it runs fairly cool for what it is.

I've been told by several people that they saw a night and day difference in temps stepping down from 100s to 75s

Im wondering if the 100 isnt a poor choice given the controls of the injection system.

Man this is soo different from the 7.3 world...

why not just shorten pulse width on a good tow tune? Larger nozzles with good TOW tunes, again TOW tune (not all out fuel tunes) and egts were waay easier to control with larger nozzles. Is there some reason I'm missing that this concept can't be applied to a 6.0? It was one of the most effective things we were doing on the 7.3s to manage egts while towing, once I went to larger nozzles, and had tunes adjusted my egts were so much lower. If there is something I'm missing please explain, because my goal was to apply this to my 06 when making an injector choice.

Sorry, should've finished reading all of thread before commenting, tycor has already addressed my concern as well

I'm either planning on stepping down to a 75, going with the KC stage 3 and tow tune, or have been leaning towards some compounds.
