I have a bonestock 04 with 128k miles. Recently it started a small puff of white smoke at start up. It smells terrible. I can't even describe how bad it smells. It's not using any coolant. It starts idles and runs great. The battery light flickered for about 5-7 seconds on the way home today and then went away. Any ideas?

I would start there lthough a little white smoke on start up is pretty normal for these trucks not sure how much your talking about. But you can also check it with a multimeter since you do not have a monitor. Look it up on youtube there are some good videos that show how to do it.

If it is a very small amount I would not worry about it too much but would not hurt to check your ficm voltage just to be sure.

I think your onto something.....battery light started randomly flickering a few days ago. I'm gonna get an Alternator and check it all out.

Yeah in that case I would look into your alternator and probably upgrade it if it is bad. Have your batterys load tested, as well as check your cables and grounds.

Since I need the truck on the road ASAP I'll just grab a factory OEM one....but next week order the DC 185?
