Will a 4wd pcm work in a 2wd truck?

I have a 94.5 7.3 that evidently has been updated to a 96 pcm, well I found out after replacing all of my blown fuses that A/C circuit in my pcm is shorted out. And after trying to no avail with about every parts store I got in contact with a guy for a pcm but his trucks are 4wd. So will the 4wd pcm work in my 2wd truck? (Both mine and his are both manuals)

I would say yes. I’m using a 2wd pcm on my 4x4 and vice verse but it’s 99-03.

Well the pcm has nothing to do with 4x4 vs 2x4, so I would say yes....
