Window tinting

I'm getting my front windows tinted tomorrow to match the rears. The installer mentioned tinting the windshield also, no more than 50%. He said windshield is so large even with matched tint, will look lighter.


Anyone with tinted windshields, please post some pictures and your opinion. Thanks.

Dont have any pics off hand but I highly recommend you do it.

It makes driving so much easier on the eyes. I have it done on both my trucks and will never own another vehicle without having it done.

Cknox121. That looks good. I was afraid to go 35% as it sounds so dark. How is that to see at night? I drive in the back woods often and was concerned about sight.

No bad. It's a noticeable difference but not unsafe to me.

It also, in my opinion, helps with driving in the rain at night. Cuts down on the glare from other cars head lights.

You need it a little darker, 5% on the windshield is very nice.

Mine is 30% on the windshield and 20% on the fronts. I love it. Still can see just fine at night. I honestly don't even notice it anymore.

That's the problem with Texas. I don't think there's a good way to do it with the stupid stickers. I have seen some people that have it done and just have the tint and then the stickers on top of it, but I bet it will get messed up by the inspection place replacing the sticker.

It's a risk I take... LOL registration sticker is in the glovebox just in case, inspection on the other hand... I think I lost that one

Cops around here sit in the median looking at the bottom of your windshield on the drivers side to check. I know because I've been pulled over before for being out of date..

Yeah they do it here too. Just got a ticket for it the other week. The ticket cost less than inspection and re doing my tint, so I just pay it and forget about it if it happens.

I've seen people just use an exacto knife and cut the exact square out for the sticker on the passenger side here in RI.

Ghetto maybe, but I think it's a old compromise and stops the po po from having a reason to harass you

I can't support it. And also if you get in an accident with the windshield tinted depending on your adjuster they can drop you and not cover it. So I will remain 5% all the way around with a 5% brow.

If you have black leather it seems a lot darker from the outside.
